Frequently Asked Questions

What if I want to do a studio shoot?

Great! Studio sessions are wonderful for controlled lighting situations. I'm happy to share a few of my favorite studios, or you can share any with me that you like. I also am happy to come to your home.

Do I need a Second Shooter?

Let's start with what a second shooter does.

Second shooters get extra angles, more moments, and help me capture things I can't. I can't be everywhere at once, so plainly, a second shooter helps me add coverage.

Do you need a second shooter? Typically, no. If your wedding is under 100 people, I'd say I can typically cover this by myself. Will I get a picture of everyone? Probably not. But will I get all your special moments? Yes!

I would recommend a second shooter (and maybe even a third shooter) for larger weddings, or if you want more photos and angles.

How many pictures will I receive and when?

Depending on the shoot, I typically deliver anywhere from 40-100 pictures per shooting hour! I'll deliver your jpegs via PixieSet, and you usually will receive your pictures within a few weeks, though that might be longer during wedding season. My contract says no longer than 12 weeks, but I've never taken that long to deliver a gallery.

Do you back up your pictures and how?

Absolutely! We can cover all of this on our consultation call where I can walk you through my process.

If you've received a gallery from me, I recommend you download your pictures within 3 months of delivery, as I don't keep your gallery up forever.

I'm not sure what I want? Can you help me?

Yes! Let's get creative and have some fun! We can do light painting, flash shoots with neon colors, flower shoots, mirror portraits. Whatever feels best.

Can you help me with choosing an outfit, location, and posing?

Yes to all of the above!

You can send me ideas that we can get excited about together, or check out the style guide I've put together. For locations, I love finding spots that work for the look and feel you want! Posing is something I love to have fun with and will be happy to guide you through the entire shoot if you need help!

Where do you travel?

Anywhere. Literally anywhere.

I've traveled to Arizona, California, Colorado, Mexico, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Michigan, Norway, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and so many other fun places for shoots.

I'm more than excited to go somewhere outside of the country (check out my discounted bucketlist locations here)! You name it, I'm in.

What is your style considered?

Timeless, traditional, candid. My edits tend to stay away from the trendy yellows, super desaturated colors, or super moody vibes. I like vibrant, true-to-life colors, and poses that make you look natural, not forced.

Is there anything you don't shoot?

I typically don't shoot large weddings (over 300). I prefer occasions like smaller weddings (under 200 people) and intimate elopements (up to 30 people).

I also typically don't do styled newborn shoots - It's not that I don't want to, I just don't have the equipment and don't see myself getting into this niche any time soon. I'd be happy to do a lifestyle newborn shoot (you giving baby a bath, holding your baby in your home, etc), but the cute sleeping baby in a polar bear outfit on a bed of fluff just isn't something I have the materials for. I have other photographers I can recommend for this.

Reach out and let's chat if you have something in mind, though!
